MetadataPro lets you add structured metadata to your documents with these simple steps:
- define metadata sets, in which you define fields of various types (select, checkboxes, number, small text, long texts)
- attach metadata sets to documents
- fill in the fields in documents

Getting started
Here's how the Metadata Pro home page looks like:

Creating a set
From there, you can create a metadata set by clicking on "Create a metadata set". This opens a page creation dialog. After saving, you can start editing your set:

Add your first field by clicking on "Add a field". You'll be able to name the field and select its type:

The left arrow at the beginning of the line lets you show advanced configuration for the field, to define its default value (for simple types) or the list of allowed values (for radio buttons, select and checkboxes types):
You can mark fields as required, reorder fields with the up and down arrow buttons in the Actions column, and create additional fields with the + button.
By default, a metadata set is available in any document. You can define specific locations in which a set can be used in the "Location restrictions" section:

When you are ready, save. Voilà! your set is ready to use.
Using a set to attach metadata to a document
To add a set to a document, use the "Edit metadata" entry in the edit menu:

From there, you can select a set to add:

After adding a set, you can edit the values:

Note how a red asterisk
marks required fields. If you try to save without filling the required fields, a message will warn you and focus the field to fill.
After saving, you can see the structured metadata on top of the document:
The edit button lets you modify the data, and the delete button lets you delete the set of data from the document.
